if you're having trouble with getting macd to report for you on shortterm charts, like 10-min, 5-min, etc--- join the club. as we all know, macd is supposed to be a lagging indicator to begin with, not a leading indicator. but on shortterm forex charts it's often outright misleading. but this may provide some relief... i just ran across it on the web so i haven't tested it yet, but the idea is to divide the standard settings by 2 or 3 and use those as your shortterm settings. so instead of 12 26 9, try 4 13 3 or something. this will of course make macd snappier and you get a lot more noise but you also get to see moves coming (i think) a little better, instead of seeing them 10 minutes after a move. |
